Drive to bring in tourists

Derbyshire County Council are at the forefront of moves to attract national and international visitors to Derbyshire.

Working with the Derbyshire Tourist Board and some non descript government funded body called Visit something or other, the council is putting up £164,000 to help promote Derbyshire’s attractions.

The cash injection is supposed to be huge boost to local businesses and comes at a time when Derbyshire is campaigning to encourage more people to visit Britain up to the Olympic Games.
