Triathlon charity ride around Peak District

MEMBERS of a top triathlon team are planning to cycle around the Peak District in birthday hats over the August Bank Holiday weekend, in order to raise funds and awareness about the national park.

Racing TNT is the largest triathlon club in South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire, with 300 members who regularly meet to train in running, swimming and cycling.

The club will be raising funds for the Friends of the Peak District to help its work protecting the landscapes of the national park.

The cyclists will be setting off from Hathersage Pool cafe on Sunday , August 28, at 10.30am.

They will ride to Fairholmes, Castleton and Monsal Head before stopping off at Hassop Station cafe for lunch. In the afternoon they will move on to Edensor, Baslow and Calver.

The bike ride is just one event making up “Love the Peak” week.
