Take a Peak District Walk

A Peak District walk guided by national park rangers on November 13th will offer a chance for those in walking boots to enjoy a “majestic panorama”.

The park authority has promised fine views over Win Hill, Ladybower and other local sights.

Starting at 10:30 GMT in the Heatherdene car park on the A6013, the walk is eight miles long and is due to end at 16:00 GMT.

Participants have been instructed to bring walking boots, waterproofs and “weather appropriate clothing”, as well as a packed lunch and drink.

The event is described as being suitable for experienced walkers, as is the other walking event held that date, which happens to be Remembrance Sunday.

It involves a trek on the Kinder plateau and an exploration of the many wartime plane wrecks strewn across the high moors, most of which crashed in wartime.

This eight-mile trek starts and ends in Edale, running from 10:45 to 16:0 GMT.
