Walk to the Matterhorn…..in Cheshire!

A guided walk to the Cheshire Matterhorn will take place November 19th.

Not quite like the real thing but the hill does have a point shape – and some wonderful panoramic views.

The trek starts at the Trentahorn Ranger Centre Car Park in the Macclesfield Forest, with the walk beginning at 10:30 BST and continuing until 15:30.

Although Cheshire is largely flat, the Pennines overlap into its eastern areas and this combination offers wide-ranging views across the plain towards the urban sprawl of Greater Manchester and landmarks such as Jodrell Bank.

Park Moor and Mow Cop are other high moors where such views can be enjoyed, while the area north of Macclesfield also offers views across to the Kinder Plateau.

Walking boots, waterproofs, warm clothing, food and drink essential.
