Matlock Bath Illuminations over for another year

A CLIFF top firework display  signalled a spectacular end to Derbyshire Dales District Council’s 2011 Matlock Bath Illuminations last Saturday 29 October.

The 114th Illuminations season began at the start of September, with entertainment and lights in the District Council’s Derwent Gardens every weekend and the famous unique parade of 10 decorated boats on the River Derwent.

The 9pm fireworks display on the last night added pizzazz to a festival that attracts thousands of visitors to Matlock Bath every autumn.  Special guests included super-hero ‘Stormtroopers’, who also entertained the crowds on opening night.
