MRT to the Rescue

Mountain rescuers were called out after a 21-year-old woman dislocated her leg after falling at a Peak District beauty spot.

The woman was taking part in a team building exercise in the upper reaches of Padley Gorge, in Grindleford, on Monday, October 31, at around 11am.

She slipped on rocks and fractured and dislocated her lower leg.

Seven members of Buxton and Edale Teams Snatch Squad were called out.

Ambulance and helicopter crew assisted with the rescue.

The woman, from the Doncaster area, was evacuated by stretcher a short distance over rocky, uneven ground to the waiting aircraft and flown to hospital for further treatment.
