Councils budget calculator

Derbyshire County Council, which must shave £22m from its spending in 2012-13, has created an online budget calculator that puts local people in the shoes of town hall chiefs when it comes to balancing the books.

Full budget proposals will be presented to full council early next year and residents who want to take part are urged to complete the calculator as soon as possible although I’m sure not a blind bit of notice will be taken of your opinions because that would be politically incorrect.

It reminds of a company i worked for many years ago that had a suggestion box for ideas to save the company money. The winner got £50 so my suggestion was scrap the suggestion box.
