National Grid boost for Trail

Energy company National Grid has given an £18,500 boost to help make sure that the Trans Pennine Trail in the Peak District National Park can be enjoyed by visitors for years to come.

National Grid is currently undertaking works to upgrade electricity cables running through the Woodhead Tunnels.

As a result of the project team’s presence in the local community, links were forged with the Countryside Rangers based in the Peak District National Park and the team wanted to help projects working to maintain the Trans Pennine Trail.
