A MAN had to be rescued from moorland in the Peak District after getting lost in bad weather and darkness descending.
He went for a walk on Bleaklow last Friday and was eventually found just before midnight after a search involving Edale, Glossop and Woodhead Mountain Rescue Teams along with the Search and Rescue Dog Association. The walker, from Sale, was escorted off the hill into the Derwent Valley.
Hill walkers please follow national advice – “to look at the weather forecast, dress appropriately, take plenty of food, take a map and compass and know how to use them, take a torch and spare batteries, take a spare torch and spare batteries – it always gets dark.”
