Peak District shortlisted for national award

As summer approaches the number of people choosing to go walking  in the Peak District is going to rise sharply, because the opportunities are endless.

And it is for this reason that the Peak District has been shortlisted for a national award alongside numerous other popular outdoor pursuits locations.

The Peaks will be in direct competition against other top walking destinations – including Cornwall, the Cotswolds, the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales and five others – in the Countryfile Magazine Awards.

Voting for the accolade will close on Friday June 1st, so walkers wanting to show their support will have to act fast if their opinions are to be registered.

As well as favourite British holiday location, the annual awards will celebrate the best conservation project and most beautiful garden. Nine other categories will also be considered.ADNFCR-2803-ID-801368433-ADNFCR
