Possibly the poshest takeaway in the world

Chatsworth Farm Shop, Pilsley, near Bakewell is now doing a fine range of food which is perfect for a picnic in the nearby stately parkland.

With the weather warming up, the estate may well be a popular destination for a day out this weekend – and a stop at the farm shop, around a mile and a half from the house, saves the need to prepare some food in advance.

There is nothing average on the ready-to-eat menu at the award-winning store’s deli. But there is a price to pay, but what do you expect for quality food.

Opening times: Monday-Saturday: 9am – 5.30pm, Sunday: 11am – 5pm

Telephone: 01246 583392

Range: Huge variety of picnic food. The deli stocks pies, pâtés, cooked meats and vegetarian dishes, and  items are freshly-made daily for the bakery. There are also knife, fork and serviette sets available.
