Cyclists are invited to take part in a charity off-road bike ride organised by the Derby Hospitals NHS FoundationTrust.
The ride, which starts and finishes at Carsington Water and covers 35 miles— 25 miles of which is off road — is one of several taking place as part of national initiative, Bike Week.
Events will be taking place across the national park to tie in with the scheme, which started on Saturday, and cyclists can take part in several events this weekend to ensure they make the most of their two wheeled transport.
Two events, taking place in the Derwent Valley, are being organised and led by the Peak District National Park Authority’s rangers as part of its Pedal Peak District project but events are happening round the country — including the Carsington ride.
The Pedal Peak District website has an online monitor allowing cyclists to set themselves a goal, ride and record their trips and prizes are on offer for anyone logging data between now and Sunday, July 7.
Walkers are advised to stay at home to avoid sufference at the hands of cyclists.
