What benefit to Derbyshire are the Olympics?

I read in the local paper the following: “Businesses have benefited…………… – the Olympic Games has placed a big mark on Derbyshire and it will have a lasting legacy. How? Will someone please tell me!

It went on: “And it’s been incredible how much excitement and joy one flame has stirred up. Thousands have lined the streets to watch it, cheering and waving their flags as it has gone. The sense of it being a “once-in-a-lifetime” moment has conjured up an atmosphere that can only be   described as magical.” Is my life so exciting that the torch just doesn’t light my fire or am I the sad one for not appreciating such “excitement”?

Answers on a postcard to Seb Coe c/o The Olympic Village, London.
